The marking process is determined by the product material, code type, and production line speed.
The exact same materials can vary in chemical composition or have coatings such as varnish, film, or lamination. In addition, DataMatrix codes may differ in size, position, and include additional elements like date and time. To maintain proper code shape (preventing stretching or compression), the line speed must be considered. Codes also need to meet strict requirements for contrast and readability.
Taking all these factors into account, we select the appropriate laser type (Fiber, CO2, UV), its operating parameters (power, pulse duration, frequency, etc.), marking type (dots or lines), optics, and speed coefficient. All parameters are interconnected — changing one requires adjusting the others.
If necessary, we also make software or hardware modifications to ensure stable, high-contrast, and readable marking on the production line.
Service Benefits
Technology optimization is a comprehensive engineering process that involves experiments, measurements, and laser system adjustments. Every factor matters: material type, coating composition, laser power, optics, code size, and product movement speed.
Our expert team of engineers helps set up laser equipment quickly and efficiently to ensure consistent results.
Technology optimization can be performed during equipment commissioning, when changing production lines, switching to new materials, or launching new products.
-
Selection of optimal parameters based on material and marking quality requirements
-
All programs ready — marking starts immediately after equipment installation
-
Reduced errors and line downtime
-
Consistent readability and contrast regardless of product or line conditions
By optimizing the process before production starts, companies ensure predictable marking quality, reduce ramp-up time for new lines, and accelerate the introduction of new products.
